Giroux Brothers completed a full-scale residential landscape transformation featuring extensive hardscape construction, site regrading, planting, and lighting installations. The project began with the removal of existing timber retaining structures and significant excavation across multiple areas of the property, followed by construction of three new engineered block retaining walls. These included a 65-foot shoreline wall tied into an existing concrete slab, a 65-foot structural wall built with geogrid reinforcement, and a 44-foot wall replacing the deteriorated pump house structure. Each wall installation incorporated drainage stone, backfill, and careful finishing to restore disturbed areas.
Hardscape enhancements continued with over 825 square feet of pavers installed beneath an elevated deck, built on a compacted crushed stone base to ensure long-term stability. Additional access improvements included granite steps, Techo-Bloc Maya steps set into the hillside, and a connecting paver landing—creating a navigable path from the front entry to the backyard. A new front walkway with granite steps and matching pavers completed the circulation upgrades and tied the site together with consistent materials.
Sitewide grading and soil improvement supported the installation of more than 10,000 square feet of fresh sod lawn. Plantings were designed to enhance curb appeal in the front yard and add screening, structure, and color across the property. The landscape was filled with a diverse mix of trees, shrubs, evergreens, grasses, and perennials—including boxwoods, junipers, hollies, hydrangea, azalea, ornamental grasses, rhododendron, and a Japanese maple. Privacy was further increased with the installation of approximately 45 Green Giant arborvitae forming hedges along the top of the slope and adjacent to the septic area.
To complete the transformation, Giroux Brothers added low-voltage landscape lighting along the new walkways, steps, and retaining walls—improving night-time visibility while highlighting key architectural features.
The project required coordinated mobilization of compact equipment—including a mini-excavator, skid steer, loader, and material hauling—managed efficiently across a multi-week schedule.By self-performing excavation, wall construction, hardscape installation, planting, and lighting, Giroux Brothers delivered a comprehensive outdoor remodel that blends function, beauty, and long-term durability.
